Welcome to Business English! I am Ms. Brandon, your instructor, and I would like to welcome you to my class. I have been teaching for 11 years, and I absolutely love my job. You have heard people say that if you love your job, you will never work a day in your life. That is exactly how I feel! Each semester I gear up to meet new students and find it rewarding to help these students reach their goals!
If this is your first time to be enrolled in one of my classes, I invite you to stop by my office and introduce yourself. My office is located in B-37 on the Jefferson Davis Campus. Because I teach classes in the mornings, I am available to meet with students from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also reach me through my e-mail – [email protected]. If you feel you need additional help with this course, communication is essential; I have an open-door policy.
This semester I am going to introduce you to the EXCITING world of commas! I know what you are thinking….Commas? Fun? Well, not only can commas be fun, but the knowledge that you obtain from this class will be a great asset for you as a student – even after this class is over. You will be able to apply this knowledge to your writing assignments in future classes as well as to written correspondence in your professional and personal lives.
This site is going to house everything that you will need for the course. You will find the following material to help you understand commas or test your understanding of commas:
